Shojo Kakumei

TBT on a Saturday~~~  Story time!
Back in 1999 I painted this watercolor fan art of Shojo Kakumei Utena and brought it to my first anime convention, Fanime '99, held at the Wyndham hotel in San Jose.   I sat with a couple of people right outside, I think, dealers' room.  We were all fan artists, I was like, cool! you guys drew anime too! Awesome!
So I was sitting next to exit door, getting decent business.  It was my first anime con, I didn't know what I was doing.  Artist alley wasn't organized as these days.
A young lady came out of dealers' room and spotted my fan art and asked, "How much is this?"
I was hesitant and I wasn't even sure I was going to sell it since it's an natural media piece.. Also it was like, . o O (wow, you would really buy this?)
The guy I sat with quickly said "15 bucks!" (or it could have been 20, I don't remember exactly.. 17 years ago)
I was like.. uh?  Wait, what?
The lady already pulled cash out and handing it to me.
15 bucks it is..  I felt bad, she seemed to like it
but what the eff, dude? lol

To this day, this is the only pre-drawn natural media fan art that I've ever sold (everything else was commissioned).  It probably doesn't exist anymore.  Maybe in some pile of old junk in the lady's basement or attic.
